Innovation, saturation, maturation and decline

I am wondering if the IOS games market is following this model. It's had the innovation and saturation points. Wondering now if it's on the maturation and decline stage awaiting the next innovation..
Would you agree, or where do you think the stage is at now?

I doubt it. iOS games are like books and cats; people will always want more, making them impervious to saturation. Good for us, but not so much for producers and authors who have to be mighty lucky to earn a living. Also, unlike hardware, software based products easily adapt to changing fashions so are more likely to survive over time. Having said that, of course, Apple may decide to pack it all in next week.

True@books. But if you look at consoles and the games they have, new consoles are released as people yearn newness.
