The radical Zeroiste movement creates an army of the reanimated dead to seize control of the country, and then to cross the Channel to strike at the heart of the British Empire. Only Tom and Anton have the power to halt the Zeroistes - or to stoke the flames of all-out war. Decide the fate of the world in this enhanced interactive adventure in the same vein as classic gamebook series.

I'm a few chapters in. It's actually FAR BETTER than HMT; definitely the most literary and technically sophisticated Cubus gamebook to date, and the artwork is mad gorgeous. I'm loving it.

They added these great little game mechanics like randomized weather (you touch a little cycling cloud) that make for even more variation in storytelling (I'm guessing...like I said, I'm only three chapters into my first play through). There is also a TIME LIMIT to certain sections, which I like-- raises the stakes and level of immersion in the many points of tension and action so far.

LOVING. IT. BETTER WATCH YO BACK, INKLE

They knocked a buck off the price for now.

Was meaning to take the dive anyway, now it's even more of a no-brainer.

So is nobody bothering with this one? This was made by the guys behind Heavy Metal Thunder and belongs to have a place at the table with Inkle's and Tinman's best offerings.

Buy it and try it, folks.

After buying this one awhile ago, I finally started to delve into it, and this is a pretty great text adventure CYO game.

You play as twin brothers who inherited the secret of Dr. Frankenstein's formula from his assistant/partner. You're basically a couple of science-fueled necromancers who lead a revolution in 17th century France to overthrow the latest monarchy in favor of ... ZOMBIE NAPOLEON BONAPARTE!

Er, either the brothers can work together or be at odds, with one favoring King Charles X, which is one of the things you'll determine with your choices. So far the game's killed me twice, and it was totally fair. In retrospect, I was pretty shortsighted with my choices and should have known better.

In each chapter there's a map that you move around that actually matters, if you pay attention to the text you're reading. So essentially the map is more important than it was for much of the Sorcery series, save perhaps for most of 3 and all of 4.

The only downside are the timed sections, which seems odd when incorporated into a game book, but it actually ups the tension as you're forced to speed-read as accurately as possible because time's limited, such as the scene where you're in a burning building.

I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts from others who played this one. I'm really looking forward to the next Cubus offering.
