App description: Battleships.io is a 10 vs.10 multiplayer action game, where two teams engage in fast paced sea battles. You will seamlessly jump into a game and join either Team Red or Team Blue. Right now there are two modes: HQ Destruction and Team Deathmatch.

In HQ Destruction the goal is to destroy the enemy HQ by moving the own big sea mine towards the enemy base. To achieve this goal, you not only have to destroy enemy ships by using your canons or torpedoes, but also by collecting different kind of chest that are floating on the surface.

In Team Deathmatch the goal is to destroy more enemy ships within a certain timeframe than the opposing team.

Mine crates: They shine in the colour of your team and move your own mine towards the enemy HQ.

XP crates: Collect them to upgrade your ship. The more your ship evolves the more damage it deals and the more it can take.

Ammunition crates: Every canon shot will cost you one unit of ammunition, firing torpedoes even five. Collect ammunition crates to reload your canons and tubes.

Repair crates: Your ship will be destroy in case your HP reach 0. Collect repair crates to repair your ship.

Carrier crates: To switch the ship class from destroyer to carrier.

But thats not all. To be successful, you should also have two more things in mind.

First, as long as the battle lasts, you may be able to respawn after your ship got destroyed, but you will lose 5 levels.

Second, avoid energy barriers turning on, as well as turrets aiming at you, because they will heavily damage your ship.

So, what are you waiting for? Get on the bridge!

This game kind of sucks. Like it could be fun, but I've yet to join a "5v5" game, or honestly even a 1v1 game. Every game I've gotten into seemed like the opponent was doing nothing. I spent most of the time engaging (and struggling to keep up) with neutral cannon bases to destroy. Tutorial was explanatory enough, just maybe a little too new to get in games atm.

Indeed it can be that there are not many players in a battle depending on how much people are playing in relation to how much "rooms" are open. That means you will sometimes start a new room (being alone in it) or join a new game with not so many players in that room. As you can see in the video I put in the thread and also in others videos we saw on youtube and games we played, most of the time it was fine.
Of course there may be times where this can happen, as Battleboats.io is a synchronous game and still evolving.

I can understand when I get Ads in the main menu but in this game you have even Ad in the Tutorial which is really annoying and makes the immersion really bad

Way too many ads. When a game takes you out of game and into your web browser for an ad... that equals fail...

It is necessary to improve the start of new games.
In 8 from 10 new games I stay alone or there is little time/mines left to finish.
I waste more time watching ads and reloading than playing.
A lobby it's a good idea.

Current favorite IO game!

This game is fun and addictive with a lot of potential, but joining a fresh populated room is challenging. When I do its a blast. I think you should implement a 'waiting room' of sorts; Everyone starts at the same time; I'd rather wait 2 minutes for a decent group than instantly join the type of room I'm tired of joining: Rooms with 2 minutes left, rooms that nobody joins, rooms that are dominated by someone who had a huge head start. Tutorial also no enemies ever turn up (chrome browser/flash problem maybe?) I'll update flash/try firefox tonight, maybe its on my side.

edit: damn this is an iphone thread, I'm playing with a mouse and keyboard on windows PC. Hope my message is still useful

it is and I can tell you and all the other players (like TRK2) having this experience we are working on it.
We already have an approach for people joing alone in a room, while joining a running game at a later stage
is more tricky. We understand, that people dont want to join a game like 10 seconds before it ends (like in Overwatch I hate this too ).
But we have to find a good solution for palyers who are still in the battle and also need a compansation for leaving team members.
But again, I guess we are going to solve this in a good way.

I'm excited to hear from you.
Like as rastapasta, I play on PC, but I did not find a better place to comment about the game.
Another idea is to create an official forum for reporting bugs and managing suggestions and questions.
In the survey you are doing I see people asking questions and suggestions that are already resolved. I wish I could tell these people "use google" !!!

The game is really fun.
I would modify the metal blocks for a more natural look. (rocks, archipelagos, etc.) or also harbor areas. The boundaries of the map would be better decorated with a coastline appearance. Just a change of skin.
Enlarge the spawn area to prevent spawntrapping or extend the range/number of the defensive cannons. And allow carriers to make aerial attacks on the spawn zone. (Improving the purpose of the carriers)
