ROME: Total War - Alexander announced for iPad

The second expansion to the Rome:Total war is coming to ipad - like the Barbarian expansion its smaller in expanse to the original rome:total war game with a different map and letting you only play with the one faction - but the more narrow focus and time limit of 100 turns made the game a lot more fast and furious as you try and tame the whole of Greece

Out of curiosity I assume its ok for me to put these threads here, or should it be the developer? I know they are active here so feel free to delete and put up an offical thread if so

Hi, I'm from the dev team behind the game! We prefer it when the community takes charge ó Alexander will (hopefully!) be your game, after all. So thanks for posting. :]

Here's a bit more info:

Alexander is the second epic expansion for Creative Assemblyís classic strategy game ROME: Total War.

A century before the campaigns of ROME: Total War, Alexander ascends the Macedonian throne and embarks upon an audacious campaign to conquer the all-powerful Persian Empire. Lead your armies to unify the Greek city states, and then march across Central Asia, routing the Persian Empire to establish your legend as Alexander the Great, the most remarkable general of classical civilisation.

* Engage in sophisticated turn-based strategy and real-time battles as historyís greatest commander: Alexander the Great.

* Lead the small Greek kingdom of Macedon in a spectacular Campaign to conquer the Persian Empire

* Fight in custom field battles and sieges as one of four factions: Macedon, Persia, India, or Dahae.

* Command over 50 units new to Alexander, including Macedonian Companion Cavalry, Persian Immortal Infantry, Indian War Elephants, and Dahae Mounted Archers.

* Enjoy a host of features designed for mobile gaming, including intuitive touch-controls and mid-battle autosaves.

* Immerse yourself in high-resolution visuals optimised for the Retina screen of the iPad, fighting colossal 3D battles with thousands of units.

We don't have a release date yet, but we're aiming for this summer.

One step at a time! We brought ROME: Total War to iPad so we're following it up with Barbarian Invasion and Alexander.

What kind of device do you have ó an iPhone? Android?

If we can get the game performing on a small screen and meeting the high standards of our design team, we'll do it. :]

Tell them we have low standards over here and itís fine if they just check the Universal box in xcode and build

No, as with ROME: Total War we've been focussing on getting the full single player experience working on iPad. But we can look into multiplayer in future if there's enough demand for it.
