Invaders...From Space! (Geography wars in an 8-bit-like 3D environment)

Excited to announce our next launch!

With reference to the under appreciated science fiction movie “Mars Attacks!”, a film about Earth being invaded by Martians with unbeatable weapons and a cruel sense of humour, “Invaders…From Space!” pays homage to 80’s CRT screens, P20 Pocket Operators, and the infamous (and much loved) Pico-8 colour palette.

"Invaders...From Space" offers an Intuitive touch control system, 3D Touch, and over 750 target locations wrapped in an 8-bit-like 3D environment. You'll need to couple your mad geography skills with your mad arcade skills to excel at this genre mash-up.

Kitschy, irreverent, retro-inspired, at the end of summer, prepare for annihilation, only on the App Store.

Love the art, a little confused as to what's going on in the gameplay. Can you explain a little on how the game is played?

For sure. So, the game is played from the POV of aliens. Projectiles are launched and you have to match the course of the projectile to the target location specified on screen. You do so by manipulating both the actual Earth and the camera view. You will be doing so with various finger/ hadn't gestures on your touch device.

Hope that makes sense! It's definitely a pretty new interaction model.

Thanks for the comment / question. More soon!

Looks very appealing; great art style.

I like the sound of needing "mad geography skills". Good geographical knowledge will help? If so, how's that integrated?

Yeah, very under appreciated film! If you keep an eye out, you'll notice some pretty obscure Futurama references in the game too.

The target locations are all based on real cities and map coordinates. Target locations appear at the bottom of the screen and correlate to projectiles and placement icons on the actual Earth. So, you'll definitely have an advantage when a target location appears on screen and you know where it is on "the globe". This will help you navigate there faster than if you had no knowledge of geography.

Also, kind of hope as an odd by product that people will learn about where various cities / countries around the world.

Thanks for comment!
