I like it. The puzzles aren't too hard and the music is great! TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #3 TheGreatEscaper, Aug 18, 2017 This game is AWESOME. First world of 15 levels + boss fight is free, just two bucks to unlock the other three worlds. Don't let the unassuming graphics fool you, this is a hard as nails, inventive and surprising game. It's a tilt maze, it's an action game, it's a puzzle game, it's snake, it's a shooter, it's loads of fun wrapped up in a tight package. There are also stars hidden in each level, as well as ridiculous goal times for the masochist speedrunners out there! It's free, so you've got no reason not to give this a whirl - the first world got me hooked and it just keeps getting better Chaikitty Member Sep 8, 2015 11 0 0 #4 Chaikitty, Aug 18, 2017 Awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far how far have you made it? My goal was to make an action game featuring puzzle elements that weren't too crazy. I've always loved puzzle games but don't care for their steep puzzle difficulty curve. So in RetroCube I instead put the difficulty curve on the action side of things. And the variety of levels, minigames, and boss fights keeps gameplay feeling new and fresh! Am I missing something here, or do I really have to kill it within one round of attacks? (P.S., other than that, I've 4 starred worlds 1 and 2. I've given up on getting the final star for the ridiculous speedrun times!) Chaikitty Member Sep 8, 2015 11 0 0 #6 Chaikitty, Aug 19, 2017 Yes, the health regeneration does pose a problem... but what if you could prevent it from regenerating somehow? Great job! As for the ridiculous speedrun times, they are easier to beat in a run without getting any stars. But they're really not so ridiculous; I'll be posting a video soon of myself clearing the entire game with stars in under 20 minutes Chaikitty Member Sep 8, 2015 11 0 0 #7 Chaikitty, Aug 20, 2017 Awesome! Just cleared the level with inverted swipe controls Chaikitty Member Sep 8, 2015 11 0 0 #9 Chaikitty, Aug 22, 2017 Cool! You'll find that there are several levels with interesting tricks like that. Such a simple change turns an easy level into a harder level Tythor New Member Aug 22, 2017 1 0 0 #10 Tythor, Aug 22, 2017 Hey, I think this game is amazing! I see that you've pulled inspiration from a variety of games and incorporated them into some of the levels. Although they are difficult, there is some truly great level design here. Each one presents a unique challenge with surprises at every turn. This game definitely gives off a "retro" feel and is tons of fun. I highly recommend that you check it out!
