Brave Hand (Heart Shaped Games)

Hello!

We’re excited to share our new card game for iOS & Android, Brave Hand, with you!



Brave Hand is a beautifully simple, original single-player card game of luck and skill by designer Scott Brodie. As you play, you unlock the story of the Wanderer and the Guardian, depicted across 16 gorgeous hand-painted themes. An elegant design that combines the simplicity of classic card games like War and Solitaire, the test of will of Poker, and the strategy of collectible card games.

The game has been selected as a Google Play Indie Game Finalist and will be demoed for the first time publicly on September 23rd at this event.

I have recently been hooked on thematic solitaire card games, will be looking forward to trying this out.

I like the idea of this very much. If you're looking for someone to test on Android, I'd be up for it.

Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words about the game on and off the forum. We appreciate all of the offers to help test and translate the game, and will be following up on that next week when we're ready to begin the next phase of the Beta.

Right now our focus is on the less glamorous parts of game development: settings, UI flow, balance, and making sure in-app purchases work properly on all platforms. Here is a screenshot of our settings screen as of now -- are we missing any settings that are important for a card game like this?



For the next few weeks, our goal is to get the game ready to be shown at the Google Play Indie Games Festival on Sept. 23rd, which our game was selected as a finalist for. It should be a great day, and a great way to kickoff our march towards launch!

We're now ready to begin translating the text for Brave Hand. We're looking for any community members that speak another language and would be willing to help us.

All translators will receive a thank you package of free stuff: Ad free version of Brave Hand when released, free copy of Hero Generations: ReGen on Steam and Mobile (iOS or Android), and credited as a translator in Brave Hand.

Translating Brave Hand is coming along really well! We're lucky to have such an amazing community of people willing to help with this. It's been fun watching the localization spreadsheet fill up over the last few days. German, Portuguese (BT), Hungarian, and French are all done. Spanish, Italian, and Chinese are getting there.

We still need a bit of help with Russian, Chinese, Italian, and Dutch. And of course we're open to other languages that aren't already on the spreadsheet.

We're excited to let you know that we've just released Brave Hand into Public Beta on Google Play, and we're also a part of the Early Access program! Android players, follow this link to download and play now!

Google has graciously given us an opportunity to give players an early look and we're looking forward to getting some much needed feedback so that we can fine tune the experience before launch. Showing our game off at the Google Play Indie Games Festival (did we mention Brave Hand was a finalist?) was amazing, but we're really looking forward to getting feedback from the Touch Arcade Community.
