How does this affect people who purchased the game full price years ago?

Will I now have ads in that version? And will I then have to pay again to get it ad-free?

If something online is free, you are not the customer - you are the product.

If you bought the game before no ads
And so far with every game thatís worked perfect but with this one for some reason when I click restore putchase and put in my password it does nothing and basically freezes up maybe itís a bug they will fix either way the ads are so few and far between itís not much of an issue for me

I can confirm - so far all of the SEGA apps I already bought have let me Restore Purchases to remove adds.

EDIT: ok the link takes me to the store and it shows "open" instead of download, but I still don't understand how this is showing up as a new game today when I've had it on my phone for 2 months or so....

It became rebranded as a Sega Forever game this week. It's been on the App Store since 2012, and in May it went permanently free to play but it wasn't a part of the Sega Forever line until this week.

It did also get the Sega Forever-style border around the icon briefly before that was gotten rid of too.
