Man, didn’t know this was coming out. Have the non-AR version and love it. Just bought The Machines yesterday. If I had known, I would have passed on that and gotten this instead.

Urghhh...

Dynamic lighting

One other new feature not mentioned in the store description is dynamic lighting - pretty cool I think...

Looks great! As a big fan of the previous version, I will surely be checking this out. As soon as I muster up enough courage to install iOS 11.0.
Looking forward to this, and it will be first to run on iOS 11 (when I muster... etc.).

This is pretty cool. A bit different than some of the other AR apps that require you to physically move your body and phone around the playing field to see. This one is more or less a straight display of the game on a surface with touch controls. So unlike The Machines, for instance, you can just stay stationary and play the game.

That said, you still can pan into the action by moving in with your phone. And the lighting effects as well as just the clarity of the game on the playing field is quite impressive.

Thanks for the short review. BTW, the aiming is based on the camera view and then closest to you if there are multiple targets. So if you have 3 enemies around you and want to target just one of the in particular you can move the camera in close to the enemy you want to target.

I originally bought Reflex Unit (classic?) and was hesitant about spending money again to by the AR version. Even though they levels are the same, it feels really different and look really cool in AR. Would be great if some more stages could be added though with AR specific gameplay features.

I received some great feedback for the dynamic lighting, but also some comments that there should be road lighting to enable easier play in lower light conditions. Happy to oblige, this will be in the first update available in the next few weeks:

Is the actual content (bar the AR of course) of the game the same as the original?

Edit: Reading fail; back to school.
