Hello and welcome to TA, hi from a fellow German ;)

The prices on your links look very reasonable and on the low end to me, so to be honest I am a bit surprised that you write they are not good for you. Also note that they are royalty-free, which is worth money too.
If you want to spend zero money on your SFX, you'll need to look around for free bundles, promotions, etc.: both sites have quite a few free packs, why don't you start with those?

freesound is the best source of sound for me too.
I also am a tiny contributor there.

I work on a shoestring budget, so I use freesound.org (CC0 licenses) and then I mix the sounds (if need be) in GarageBand. I found this worked well for my needs; I needed spaceship engine sounds so I used the old star wars tactic, I mixed animal sounds with mechanical sounds. Some sounds ended up sounding pretty good, and then others were pretty silly (on purpose, e.g. I have a ship that looks like a catfish so I used a scuba divers sounds with an engine sound) I think you will be able to find and maybe modify the sounds you need. Good Luck to you!

BXFR is great for generating your own soundFX. I just Hit the "random" button until something interesting comes up and then tweak it.

True! On Mac it is cFXR. I used this tool to create 8bit fx for my games On Fire and Freak Out.
