Mobile 1UP - abiosis:chains released

http://www.mobile1up.com/abiosis/
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=335842734&mt=8

** NOTE **
a revised version of the Chain Rxn game; penalties for failed attempts; complete with online high score boards.
====

ADDICTION - RE-DEFINED!

The object of the game is to remove as many balls from the screen as possible by 'exploding' them; in a chain reaction.

>> HOW TO PLAY

Tap the screen to insert the starting ball - that will expand to its full size, exploding any other balls that touch it, until it finally collapses and disappears.

Complete all 12 missions to accumulate the highest score possible - higher scores are awarded when longer chains of explosions occur.

You will be penalized if you fail to complete a mission!

the background art is actually spray-paint art! i asked a guy to make them specifically for this game so it would give it a little graphics buzz

For some reason, I love this kind of font:

The +points font

it's Arial - 12pt from memory the fonts are done a bitmaps - so they are pre-rendered (and overlaid on top of the game action)

This looks just like Chain Rxn

Is there any difference beside the background?

abiosis:chains was released previously as "chain rxn" (unofficial):

http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=25841

it was a free effort to bring the game to the phone - we tried to contact zwigglers previously (but, they simply ignored emails); in fact; the first contact we got from them was via apple (via a cease-and-decist).. some people play nice.

to answer your question:

- support for all devices
- faster graphics
- more challenging scoring
- more information provided in runtime
- doesn't crash (lots of reports of crashed in chain rxn reviews)

overall; our version doesn't have facebook integration - but it is in general a cleaner, better implementation. we decided to make the game more challenging and as a result; and put our own spin on it. as a result - abiosis:chains was created. you either love it or hate it.

It's a weird compliment to make, but I agree on the font thing. More devs need to use pixel perfect text rather than the blurry crap we see so often.
