Not at all. Everything can be done without IAP. I did spend a little once I figured out how much I like the game. Theres a really generous starting package for 99 cents.

I am surprised not many playing this. This is the closest to MUD you can ever find. I am.playinh on X my complaints are it's a bit too small of the text.
Surviving in the wilderness is tough especially at the start. If only town portals can be easily gotten or tents?
How do one get more tents? If we can't get portal easily at least give us tents easily.

Has anyone played the first one how is it compared to this?

Once you upgrade the workshop more you will unlock better tents, which allows you to camp more per run.

And for town portals they can randomly show up in the marketplace. I find it very useful to keep some of those on hand for emergencies, but try not to rely on them.

You can also salvage wolf fur to get leather for crafting town portals.

Well the developer quite literally ripped of (better: copied) the first game called Mystic Castle after it's servers went offline, renamed it to Dungeon Survivor, claims that it is their own "classic" (which maybe Mystic Castle was) and released an "official" sequel... Not sure what to think about that :/

The original Mystic Castle was great though. Absolutely free to play, no pressure to buy currency or whatever. There were official story expansion packs you could buy for a couple of bucks.

It went offline and another game similar game was born. Could be possible it's the same developer who managed to find another publisher?
