Barbarians: The Fall. 3D Turn based strategy. NOW FREE

Game is now Free

Barbarians: The fall. It's a 4X style game so if you've played Civ or masters of orion you should feel at home. It's a turn based strategy game.

It's a 3D world with 3D stickmen as the units. The interface uses all the normal iphone geustures, drag, zoom, rotate.

Some of the features:
Multiple ways to finish game.
Research Technologies.
Build buildings.
build bases.
create various units. hunters, barbarians, soldiers, priests, spys, gods, super heros, mad scientists.
In game fighting, no boring cutscreens when fighting.
Manage your taxes, and distribute them to military or science.
You have fighting and also bribing so that money does actually come in useful.
Trade Techs with AI.
Taping feature to skip animations-I'm not going to force you guys to watch the same animation over and over, since it pisses me off as well.
5 save slots and an autosave.
I think the AI is pretty damn good, but I'm sure you guys will tell me their unborn baby could beat the game without even trying.
Map generator so you never play the same map twice.
Alien monoliths spread about give you some bonuses.
Full support to let you play your ipod music while playing the game.

I'm really pleased about the pace, it seems to have a nice feel to it.

I liked Master of Orions, I didn't think anyone else actually ever played that. I also liked Civilizations. I don't know about the graphics but if there's enough depth and good gameplay...

Congratulations unparagoned. Looks interesting.

Yeah, not great graphics, but the depth and strategy of the game may be great. Anyone tried it out yet?

The file size is small enough so you can downloas it over 3G.

I'm a sucker for turn based games and decided to try it out. Even though I got burned by war generation and kolonists.

Barbarians isn't as bad as it looks. It's a game that actually just works, apart from the initial loading times there isn't anything that's annoying. It took me a bit to work out how to end turn, but it's because I skipped pop up, but it's in the menu tutorial. Which means I've played it fairly constantly since downloading it.

I'm still working out the best strategies to use, I lost last time so I think I need to build a few more buildings and increase the tax rate.
