My Grandfather didn't return from Russia during WW2. I prefer fantasy war games over WW2 games.

Would you like to play "Rape Lord Faucon's Mother - Judgement Day!"? Would you also say that "Dive into the Twin Towers - Judgement Day!" is also just a game? I wouldn't...

Producing "only" a game doesn't allow you to go overboard and do anything you like with no respect to others.
Putting aside the fact that your Grandfather had no business being in Russia in the first place, you have to look at the game as just a game. Lux Dlx is just a game. Risk is just a game. By your reasoning Monopoly should not be played either because someone's relative may have committed suicide after losing their Hotel or Factory. ITS JUST A GAME. There is no propaganda there, no rasist statements, no gruesome images, etc. Most games have good guys and bad guys. In WW2 games Germans and Japanese end up being bad guys. In Vietnam based games - its the Viet Kong. In Modern Warfare type games - its either the ultra-nationalist Russians or Arabs. If any of these games offend you - don't play them. I don't think that this little game went "overboard". What part of this game do you find offencive?

First of all, you didn't answer the questions in my post.

Of course, my grandfather didn't have any business in Russia. But this doesn't change the fact that he left behind his wife with two children in a devastated country. Sounds funny, huh?

Lux Dlx and Risk in their basic versions do not reference to any real historic events. Of course, I prefer a 'Middle Earth' Lux Dlx map over a 'Serbian - Kroatian' map anytime.

I cannot tell you which part of the game I find offensive because I didn't download it. I already find the description of the game offensive. The question is: Why didn't you?

Yeah, religious wars are a riot.
This game is remotely based on the conflict which took place in 1967 in the Middle East, also known as 6-day war (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6_day_war). Hence “historical campaigns” and 6 days in the Tutorial. Anyone who wants to discuss the setting is welcome to read some history on the topic and then decide if this page in wiki (along with any movies and books on the topic) needs to be shut down because it has many Israel, Egypt and Syria flags over it and might have words “Middle East”. I think, as always, much of the problems of the modern world come from people who jump to make judgments and decisions without having a sense of the subject. From our side, we will try to alter the description on iTunes to explain the setting better.

This is a war game. A game of strategy and reaction. Each level is a puzzle you have to solve in real-time. It’s different from what you are used to see on iPhone, but it might be good to try some new game play – you might like it. It’s called “innovation”, whether you like the result or not. We have Lite version for those sceptical. And we are glad some like the game.

As a war game, this game needed a setting. The best setting for a war game is a real historical conflict. We needed a fast-paced conflict with tanks and helos. There’s not much choice of these. So we picked 6-day war and Vietnam, also as conflicts that happened some 40 years ago. We did not want to have a setting of an ongoing conflict like Iraq or Afghanistan, nor did we want to make up some “upcoming” conflict and pronounce some nation as “bad guys”. And helicopters were not used much in WWII.

I hope this solves the issue, and we can see the discussion of the game, not the setting. We apologize for the lack of Vietnam campaign, we are fixing in-app purchase at the moment. It will become available for additional $0.99 without the need to download update, as soon as we fix it. The full game has a lot to offer while you are waiting – a campaign for Israel, a campaign for Egypt/Syria, and an Endless Survival Mode where you can pick any of four flags – Israel, USA, Syria, Soviet Union, and then post your results to online leader board.
