Robo Logic vs. iBot

Tried searching for a similar thread but couldn't find one. Apologies if this has been previously discussed...

I recently tried the free version of Robo Logic and rather liked the gameplay concept, although it was way too short to really give any indication of the quality of the full version.

I was about to take the plunge on it when I also came across iBot which seems to offer a similar type of game.

Has anyone tried out these games and, if so, give some feedback?

Many thanks.

I don't have a good answer to your question, but that robot from iBot sure looks like a straight rip off of Eve from Wall•E

iBot

Robo Logic

I've been away for awhile, but I'm back.

Hahaha, thanks for mentioning. Where is the game about me, any dev interested?!

And two be true, I don't wanna compete with any of these two robots.
They seem too intelligent.

How did you reach that verdict?

Personally, I prefer the look of Robo Logic; as Chumbake noted, iBot looks like a Wall•E rip-off. Interface looks too busy, too.

Anyway, here are some impressions on Robo Logic (based on the Lite version)

GAMEPLAY: The idea is to guide your robot via commands (turn left, right, forward, jump, activate) to a specific target square (or squares) found in each level and to activate them to clear out the level.

In addition to the 12 basic command slot limitation, you also have two command sub-routines (6 slots each) you can call upon for a theoretical total of 72 commands per level.

The real trick as I see it is to use your sub-routines wisely to perform certain repetitive tasks as each level becomes more complex coz the 12 basic slots aren't going to be nearly enough to do the job.

My worry is that there only seems to be around 20 levels (there were 4 levels in the Lite version, not including the tutorial levels) and it didn't take me very long at all to finish those (10 minutes max!).

Unless the remaining 16 puzzles really ramp up the difficulty level or unless it drops to $0.99, I'm thinking this isn't really worth 3x the cost of, say, TanZen.

Just stumbled across this: LightBot, from the folks who made Phit.

Plays almost exactly like Robo Logic (I tried the free version)

Robo Logic has 20 levels for 2.99
LightBot has 15 for free.

It's quite fun so far.

Btw, LightBot loading screen is an absolute spitting image of iBot (2.99)

You're right.

With the exception of 1-2 minor interface changes, they could be twins.

Wonder what's up here?
