So (drum roll) here's a hint that will make your life a little easier and will allow you get a lot more 'badges'...increasing your score:

Imps usually have pointy noses.

Sounds random...but it will help a lot. There are definite things that imps have and oafs don't (and that oafs have and imps don't) that make them easy to tell apart! It's not random
