'Imp or Oaf?' is about number 7 in Free Kids Games right now! Thanks a lot for everyone's support of the game...and it's keeping it's 4 1/2 star rating! You should check it out for the music alone, just sayin'. Um, it's free.

I feel like I'm the only person that doesn't understand the game at the moment... I have played several rounds, and I still have no idea what's going on.
So we're guessing if the thing in the picture is an imp or an oaf. But what if there are two characters in the same picture? Which one do we focus on? And how are we supposed to guess if they're an imp or an oaf? Are we given clues somehow? I'm sorry for my ignorance. I just have no idea how I'm supposed to be able to guess if they're an imp or an oaf

The biggest clue is in the help section, the images of the imp and oaf. Those are the templates for telling the difference between them. The 'thick', meaty guys are normally oafs and the thin, small, spindly guys are imps. There are some exceptions. The hard rule is that imps have pointy parts: ears, noses feet. We used to have pointers in the game description on the app store, but it was too cumbersome and long and no-one read it anyway! I pretty much have them memorized at this point...but I still get them wrong every once and a while. Someone in one of our iTunes reviews mentions a sound issue: you can't presently (on the iPhone, it's fine on the iPod) change the volume of the SFX from within the game, but you can turn them off in options. The SFX stick to whatever your 'ringer volume' was when you started the game. We've fixed this and it will be corrected in our first update...that will also have 10% more imps and oafs! I started downloading this yesterday, and today i checked my iTunes to find that it never finished. When i tried starting it back up, i was asked to enter my iTunes password no less than three times, and then given an 8003 error. Is this a problem with the game, or is something wrong with my iTunes? im thinking its the former, since i was apparently able to download Return to Mysterious Island with no trouble..

Never heard of anything like that happening before...we had tens of thousands of downloads yesterday and this hasn't come up 'till now. Let me look around and see if I can find anything about this anywhere (on the web).
What country are you in? |

From the looks of it it's an issue with iTunes and McAfee. Seems that this can happen to people purchasing music and TV shows/movies too.
Check this out on the Apple support forums: http://discussions.apple.com/thread....art=0&tstart=0 Let me know if that helps. If not we can figure something else out. I'll PM you. Looks like you had this issue with 'Santa Trapper' too (I saw in another thread), I'd play with your McAfee settings and see how that works. Last edited by gildedskull; 12-20-2009 at 01:49 PM.. |
