PlayScreen LIVE FROM CES! Trivia Contest: Promo code for Pigs a Pop'n

Hey, just because I'm surrounded by HDTV's and booth-babes doesn't mean we can't do a trivia contest.

Since I'm at The Consumer Electronics Show, let's do one on Consumer Electronics.

This 'Cam-Corder 'was released in the late 1960's and used 1/2" video tape. It was the first 'portable' system consisting of a separate deck and camera one person could carry around. (I got to use on in 1971 when I was a kid).

What is it?

The Rules:

1. No editing of messages.
2. I decide who wins.

A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad until the end of time.

Sure you can. As long as he has a device to play the game on.

Oh, this was SO much older. Hint - The tapes were "reel to reel." Before VHS-C, before Betamax.

THIS:

Open reel

The first practical professional videotape machines were the Quadruplex machines introduced by Ampex in the United States in 1956. Quad employed a transverse (scanning the tape across its width) four-head system on a two-inch (5.08 cm) tape, and linear heads for the soundtrack. The BBC experimented with a high-speed linear videotape system called VERA, but this was ultimately unfeasible. It utilized 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) tape traveling at 200 inches (5.08 m) per second.
