True. I don't always agree with IGN and often look at lots of reviews before buying things, not just games.

I just get the feeling that even though it's only one reviewer's opinion, he probably isn't going to be way off on this one.

Well put. I was going to say the same thing (although probably not as well ) but you beat me to it.

I would only add, that sometimes a review will highlight one of my biggest concerns, and cause me to avoid a game, even if that review was generally positive. For example, in the case, I was concerned that the controls might not work well. While the whole "$5 but you need to buy additional DLC to get the full game" part annoys me, the issues he talks about with the controls are what really pushed me to the don't-buy side.

Arn is showing you two videos in here with fairly high game speed.
And it seems to work!

Reviews are still a VERY personal thing.
For example, STP gave Ice Age a 2 (!!!), which is just not the consensus.

I don't see how the controls could be better. Of course, you're still gonna miss a turn or whatever at high speeds, but that was true with a joystick too.

That is more than enough for me to believe this game will be amazing like it is in the Xbox. Thanks Arn

I think its cognitive dissonance.

Of course you can have a negative opinion about a game without playing it. Many things contribute to a person's opinion of a game.

"I don't like that genre"
"I saw a gameplay video and it looks boring"
"I saw a screenshot and the graphics look terrible"
"I read a bunch of negative reviews"
"The music grates on me"

and my personal pet peeve

"I hate games that don't save the state when you exit or let you listen to your own music"

If you couldn't form an opinion about a game until you had played it, there would be no purpose to sites like TA.

People complain about the in app purchase because they probably want to get the cracked version of this game.. I don't see any problem with the in app since it will be the same price even a dollar less.. The developer feels that people might get his Game cracked, that is why is made the in app purchase decision.. I have no problem with that and think its a nice idea to fight piracy.

7.00 actually but i dont have a problem buying the game once for 7.00 but when you come out with a game and sell it for 4.99 you should be getting the complete game not part of it, so if you get past the areas you cant continue on till you buy the rest of it...

ya, my issue with the IGN article is the final opinion is highly dependent on the price of the components.

The price for the game seems to be $2.99 (U.S.) now. I still haven't seen verification of the in-app purchase portion. IGN says it is $2.99 (US) for DLC, but Namco can change that at any time, as they just adjusted the price of the game itself.

Though, I agree this whole here's part, buy the rest attitude sucks in general.
