The award winning word game WordsWorth has entered the iPhone 5 era with the latest version 4.0 - Word Gamers can now play WordsWorth on the gorgeous 4” display of the iPhone 5 .

But Wait! There are more changes under the hood! WordsWorth now has a new system of scoring called ‘Star’. Making words using tiles with more ‘dots’ earns the player more Stars, which can be used to Unlock 4 New Power-Ups within the Game.

Yes folks! There are 4 New Power-Ups designed to Amp Up your gaming experience on WordsWorth. The Power-Ups, 2 of which can be used in every game are detailed below:

- FINDER: Locates the best word in the grid.
- REPLACER: Replaces all instances of a letter with one of the player’s choice
- RESETTER: Resets the Timed Tile back to zero
- REVIVER: Earns a new life and continues the game

We have also added Two new clubs - Word Crunchers Elite and Ultimate Word Crunchers!

Apart from this, WordsWorth has now gone Universal – You can play the game on both the iPhone and the iPad!

Thanks for the answer, even though I don't like it ;-). Wordsworth is one of my favorite word games, but I am not sure I want to buy it again. I can still play the older HD version.

Ouch!

While the power-ups sound like a neat twist, it sure looks like another app going the way of "pay to play". The important question now will be how hard the game pushes one to IAPs. If these power-ups are reasonably priced so that you could at least grab one via the in-game currency earned by a couple of good games, so be it, but if one of those cases where it would take SEVERAL games just to earn one, that will be the end of this game on my devices.

LordGek, I am well into my first "Classic" mode single player game in the new WordsWorth (thanks so much to the developer for giving me a promo code) and the new power ups are earned as you play. You accumulate points, and at the start of each new scoring level, you can select up to 2 power ups for that level if you have enough points available. I suspect the new power ups will lead to higher scores; my current game has gone for quite a while but I am not yet close to my best WordsWorth HD score (I played a lot).

I have not noticed any shops or IAP in the game and there appears to be absolutely nothing evil or devious about this game - just a ton of great content as in earlier versions but even better! This is definitely one of my top 2 or 3 IOS word games.
