What do you look for in a game?

Hello everyone, yes me again!
I'm housebound due to the weather here in England. It's been snowy, icy and just generally bad, so it's hard to get out. The other day I stepped outside and slipped on some ice and unfortunately I had my other foot inside, so i kinda did this weird splits thing
Anyway, being housebound i've been on my iPhone a lot, and more importantly some pretty cool apps. I have to admit though, i'm still yet to find an app that has actually had me addicted. There have been games that i've enjoyed and played for a while, but none that are addicting. So, this had me thinking; what do I want in a game? I thought i'd share this with you guys 'cause i'm sure all of our opinions will differ and who knows, a few dev's might look at this thread and get a great idea for a new game!

Okay, so personally I like:
1) A cool icon (Sorry, but I really hate some game icons!)
2) Customizable characters
3) Online community in which you can view other people's characters and 'homes'
4) An awesome selection of weapons and armours which you can upgrade
5) Achievements!
6) Online multiplayer, where you can work as a team or against eachother
7) Cool graphics!
8) Well suited controlls
9) Well designed maps, no more box shaped arenas!
10) Polished more than a brand-spanking new Porsche

Please add your opinions as i'm sure there are many more creative ideas that I haven't thought of

Ell

Ps. Merry Christmas to everyone, and I hope you all get them iTunes cards that you've asked Santa for

Intuitive gameplay
Fun
Well-executed Graphics (can also be stick figures, but they have to look good :P)
If possible, Level Editor
If possible, Online Multiplayer

Unique gaming ideas give huge bonus

Interfaces made for the iDevice (best example = Red Conquest) give huge bonus

Wht I want from a Game is Randomness. (Worms, CJS, CartoonWars, Minigore)
No 2 games should be the same, in such cases, the number of Levels do not become a problem
Some Epic BGM & Sound Effects (Worms, Minigore)

Mis-quotes!!!!!!!

Tell me about the weather in England. I had 20cm a week ago but i guess that might seem like nothing in the US or other countries where it snows often in winter. Anyway I'm quite similar to you, i love loads of weapons and guns, customization and humor. I rather enjoyed sandstorm for a great fps. But there is yet to be an app with all these, as far as i know.

A good story
Fun Factor
intuitive controls and gameplay
challenge
provides a sense of immersion
uniqueness
online components are nice but not must have for me
good graphics, i can appreciate different art styles but good graphics and polish go a long way
Polish- menus, text, UI, everything should be well thought out and polished

I love unlocking things... it gives you a point to the game... Like Monster TD. you have to unlock all the mosters to use them. I get addicted to games like that. I just have to unlock everything

Games I'm Playing: Doom Classic, Red Conquest!, Battle for Wesnoth, Land Air Sea Warfare (my favorite rts, buy it today!)
