"Goodness we thought Bejewelled was the best! Wrong- Gem Spinner IS :O) - I fought to get my 'phone after downloading Bejewelled. After loading GEM SPINNER, my phone is gone before I awake. I have to use the landline to make phone calls now.:O)) Get this- you won't be disappointed. Keeps you on your toes. Enjoy." -- Sunihugz

"great app - totally addictive and worth the three bucks. seriously. nicely done" -- el bijouxe

"Now this really IS unique... - I haven't run into anything else like this...it's my favorite game, and I've tried close to 50 of them. Nice job!" -- ExcelGeek

"Great game - Great take on bejeweled, so much more engaging. Well worth the money." -- TechnoGirrl

"Best.Game.Ever. - If you're a match-3 fan, BUY THIS GAME. It's the most fun, intriguing, addicting game I've ever played. I play it every day without fail and never get bored or tired of it. I wish they would add more levels and also release a PC version of this game!! I love it!!" -- ck428

"[Gem Spinner] completely changes the whole dynamic of the match-3 formula, and in a good way that doesnt come off as an attempt to be different just for the sake of being different. Real thought was put into the design of this game, both functionally and aesthetically, and it shows. Theres a genuinely entertaining game here with lasting appeal that brings some unexpected twists to the table literally and figuratively and adds a savoury dash of logical thinking to this otherwise staid puzzle formula." -- frapstr.com

Gem Spinner is match-3 like youve never played before! Its based on the popular gem-swapping game play of Bejeweled, but adds some great twists some like Tetris, some brand new that make it much more engaging and thought provoking, but still easy to learn and play.

Gems are arranged inside of pieces of different shapes and sizes. Swap adjacent gems to match three in a row. Double-tap a gem to spin its piece 180 degrees. Match all the gems in a piece to clear the piece from the board. Drag pieces to empty board spaces to create more match opportunities. Match enough spaces to complete the level goal and then continue to swap, spin, and drag to try to clear the entire board.

Features of Gem Spinner Free:

16 unique boards which can be played at skill level 1. Full version offers 35 boards and a variety of skill levels.
Great graphics and sound effects.
Optimized for minimal battery drain
Animated, narrated instructions explain all aspects of game play.
Practice mode available with hints on every move.
Easy to learn, easy to play, hard to master.

Coldar's comments:
Came upon Gem Spinner which normally goes for $2 and now theres a free version that seems to be the exact same thing. Wanted to get this but wasn't too sure of the game play and now with it being free......no brainer http://www.tinybitegames.com/tbg/gemspinner/

I grabbed the free version and can't imagine what's different from the full version. Can anyone explain the difference?

Prior to its release, Nick told me the lite version will feature just one skill level and a limited number of levels. I haven't checked out the lite version (already have the full) so I can't say if that's how it ended up, but he told me that two days ago when it was submitted so I imagine he got it sorted.

Price drop to .99 from $3. Mostly good reviews for the game (56 total on iTunes). Real fun game and definetly worth a look.

Actually it has some depth to it. Blocked sections have to be rotated as well as switching the gems around within the blocked sections to make matches and you've got to move quickly or certain parts of the board get a hole thereby making the area unplayable. Just looking at the pictures doesn't do justice to the actual game play involved.

It is a very original hybrid of Bejeweled and Tetris in a weird way.

Indeed. Gems can only be moved within their sections, but sections can be rotated, moved around (assuming there's free space for them to do so) and eliminated from the board entirely. It's quite an enjoyable and refreshing take on the Match 3 formula.

This game is great, I had been watching this for a while since playing the demo and at $.99 it should not be passed. The graphics are a bit hard on the eyes, but the gameplay is really clever with enough moving bits to make your head spin

Coincidentally, I just played a few levels of this game last night. I hadn't played it in a long time; in fact, I just played because I touched the icon by mistake. Aaaanyway, it's a nice game and definitely worth $0.99! The graphics and theme are kind of ???, but it's a nice change from what's typically out there. Clever, elegant game.

It's one of the best match 3 games out there but just looking at screenshots doesn't come close to conveying it's power.
