Lightspeed Racer! by Team Dropkick

Here is a new game that is almost done I'm making called Lightspeed Racer!

Today I'm going to add some boost-pads and other little things to enhance gameplay, but here are a few pics for you to enjoy!

I wanted to make a 2d version of wipeout and F-Zero, as those are my favorite types of games, and I'm still choosy on whether I should have opponents or not, or even how to go about doing that. Most likely it will have local best times until I get openfeint or something.

Here are some more pics...

just a thought, should i also try to add a sort of "dumb AI" that follows the trace, or rather have it just be the playe by himself trying to beat his best time?

Update!

I tried, and for this version at least, I might not be able to have AI of any sort, but I will be able to save the best times soon. I also want to have a teleport thing you fly onto similar to v is for vortex, but to give you a better time in place of maybe a boost pad.

This game sounds cool! I love the idea behind it. Any price ideas yet?

Probably 0.99 or 1.99, depending on if I can get the local leaderboard up.

Later today, I can have a video of gameplay from my computer, but not from the ipod yet since I don't have a camera. I'm still tinkering with a local high score for each track, and essential UI stuff, but more later...

looks good! can you probably add a glowing effect
like in pacman ce to the walls (means: if you get near to a wall, it will glow a bit in the colour of your racer, watch a trailer of pacman championship edition to better understand, what I mean.)
