App description: KotH, or King of the Hill, 3D game where you have to climb to the top of the landscape and defeat the watchtowers in a world where energy is strictly conserved.

KotH is a remake of Geoff Crammond's game 'The Sentinel' from the 1980s. You start at the bottom of the landscape, and have to work your way up. You gain energy by absorbing items in the landscape, but the watchtowers will absorb energy from you.

KotH has over 4 billion unique 3D landscapes for you to tackle.

KotH is OpenFeint Enabled.

JamesW's comments:
KotH is a remake of Geoff Crammond's classic The Sentinel. My version sticks fairly close to the original with it's flat shading, and try and get to a higher numbered landscape gameplay. There are about 4 billion landscapes, of varying sizes, which should keep you going. It also incorporates OpenFeint, so you can check your progress against other players.

Congrats on what looks to be a faithful remake! Always great to see some of the classic games make a comeback

Is there really 4 billion landscapes? That's quite a large number.

The original had 10,000 landscapes on the old 8 bit computers. The landscapes are procedurally generated - in KotH's case they're seeded from a 32 bit number, which gives 2^32 possible landscapes.

I've already got 'The Watcher' by Andrew Nevick. Anyone got any views about which is better?

A quick heads up to announce the release of an update to KotH. The main change is that it now supports configurable controls, and adjustable sensitivity. These seemed to be the primary issues people had with the original release.

The icon crown looks like it's made out of Doritos ...

Yeah, I said it: Your Tower Defense/Stick Figure/Block game sucks.

Yep - I'd love to know this too - I enjoyed the Watcher a lot, but wondered if anybody though this was a better version....
