I played the lite version... and yeah... multiplayer really won't save this. It was the gameplay. I just found it hard to enjoy. You REALLY have to be obsessed with skateboarding and need a new game to get into it. I've played every Tony Hawk game (well, except for Ride but that doesn't count) and still didn't like it.

Personal preference, maybe so. But I'm not the only one saying this. I apologize for bashing the game, but someone asked for impressions so I gave them.

Is the online worldwide, and is it laggy?

Frankly, I got it months ago when it was $1, but would be willing to pay at least $5. Despite what some people will tell you, it is hardly laggy, and now that it has multiplayer and more locations, you'd be a fool not to pick it up at any price, skateboard-fanatic or not.
