Latest Approval times thread

Can anyone elaborate on Apple's approval process 'update' that we've all been hearing about? I've heard 9 hours, 20 hours, 3 days...
I'd love it if people can share their latest experiences in the past 2 weeks.

Got Heat? was submitted on the 8th and approved on the 11th. It's a simple app from a review standpoint, so your results may vary. Our HodgePodge update was submitted the 11th and is still in review. It is quite a bit more complicated, so I would expect it to take longer.

Turn around time for me has been great over the past 30 days or so. They improved it a TON.

Not seeing measured-in-hours turn arounds myself - I submitted an update early Tuesday (Jan. 12 at around 1 am) and it's still "Waiting For Review".

well, we had 2 updates to our app lately, first took 20 hours, second just 10 I think

what makes me wonder - why is it that much faster ?
are the rules greatly loosened ?
do they just decompile the code and look for bad words and similar stuff ?
do they have more people working on that ?

at beginning I thought that's a result of not showing updates in new releases, but I dont think this is the case. I actually see more updates to apps I have than before...

so besides time - what has changed ? anyone has any idea on that ?

Apple's approval process confuses me. Not only about how long they take, but the apps that they approve and don't.

From what I understand an ex-marine started running (January 04) the app review division of iTunes. Drastic changes have been made and the process is very efficient. The staff is highly motivated (happy) since they have a sense of direction and leadership. Apps are" in review" by the general staff within a few hours, if no problems are present the app is approved quickly. Problem apps are dealt with by specific reviewers that deal with "only" a specific issue. Everyone wins including developers. Time is money.

I submitted 1 to 25 Lite yesterday hope to see it up and running today. ( unless I get punished for leaking information)

Hi Josh. The Horrible Vikings was approved within 20 hours of submission. That was back on January 6th (ready for sale by January 7th).

Did you see Little White Bear's tweet? I think he said 3 days very recently.
