New to iPhones and Development

Well lets start off by saying that Im so happy a board like this exists. I am still kind of new to iphones and ipod touches, and developing for them, but that has not stopped my brain from working on ideas.

My current idea, despite not alot of demand from what I can see, is a pokemon-esque game. It will pay alot of homages to the orignials, while having its own story and characters that set it apart. I have alot of the ideas down, and have started on the artwork for it, but I have just started learning Object-C coding. For a game of this type, is Object-C the best way to make a game? Or is there an easier, simpiler way while maintaining graphic quality and gameplay quality.

My next issues would be, is there something with an interface to code in that will work on a PC and then move the files to a Mac to do the finishing touches and release it.

Any help will be appreciated and again, Im happy to be here and cant wait to post my game in the upcoming section!

Just noticed Adobe comping with the compiler for iphone games. Since I already know enough action script it looks like ill be waiting for that.

My next questions: Will I be able to do DLC/Updates easily with Flash? What would be some benefits to staying with Objective-C as opposed to going with Flash

Sounds to me as Unity 3d - http://unity3d.com/unity/features/iphone-publishing - is the right choice for you. Visually game development on PC, Mac and iPhone. I really like it.

I have looked at Unity and have it all downloaded, but have yet to play with it. I wasnt sure if it would be appropriate for this type of game, but maybe this is what it needs.

Would a pet collection game be good in a Unity environment?
