My Telephone Game is LIVE!! [by people operating technology]

3 NEW Promo Codes!!!!! on this thread at or around 8:29 PACIFIC TIME on January 28th, 2010

In the game variously known as Chinese whispers, Telephone, Broken Telephone, Whisper Down the Lane, Gossip, Arab Phone (from the French Le téléphone arabe), and Stille Post (Silent Post), the first player whispers a phrase or sentence to the next player. Each player successively whispers what that player believes he or she heard to the next. The last player announces the statement to the entire group. Errors typically accumulate in the retellings, so the statement announced by the last player differs significantly, and often amusingly, from the one uttered by the first. The game is often played by children as a party game or in the playground.

Now for the fun part. We created a digital version of this game. You now have the ability to play Telephone on your iPod Touch and iPhone. This application has push notifications as well as email invite features.

Well there's something you wouldn't have expected to see. Probably not my sort of thing but certainly different.

On a semi-related note, why do I get the feeling that the name "People Operating Technology" was contrived specifically because it makes the acronym "POT"?

so this game seems unique for iPhone. Do you really call people on your contacts list? Or is this all virtual?

Hey Dev,

What would I do with those 50 credits @ $3.99 USD via in app purchase? I'm known to be a horrible reader, so my apologies if I missed the justification in the app description.

I'm a bit confused by how you play it on the iPhone... So is it in real-time? Or are you doing it at your own pace?

Like... Someone in Canada whispers "SAW VI comes out on DVD tomorrow" (yeah, that was subtle ). Then that recording is sent to a server, and people across the world try to understand what it says. And you don't do this in real-time. Just pick-up and play, like that one word game on Facebook where you take your turn whenever you have the time to.

Is it like that? Or is it live?

I'm really confused how this works
