Free Smiles - IGF Mobile Finalist Smiles "Lite" Now Available

I was hoping to be able to use that title.

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. The "lite" version of Smiles, also known an Free Smiles.

Free Smiles lets you try out both games found in Smiles. Zen (the patience game) and Drop (the puzzle game). The full version includes much more than this (3 themes, 14 game modes, achievements and high scores), but it should finally let everyone see what the fuss is about. How a Matching Game is a finalist for Best Game in the IGF Mobile.

And hey, maybe you'll like it too.

Here's the promo video for the full version I've been sharing. It demonstrates some of the advanced features that make it stand out compared to so many others (multiple matches, huge combo's). It makes a good primer for those new to the game. Zen has caught many people by surprise (1:18 in).

Also, if you find you like one game but not the other, you can buy the games individually. Smiles Zen and Smiles Drop. Buying Smiles though saves you $1, and requires only 1 icon instead of 2. I know that's a big deal for some people.

Some people may also like the Drop "200 match challenge". This "Lite version" limits you to 200 matches, with one exception. Combos.

In Drop, you can keep a combo going by touching more matches while the others are clearing. So if you're quick enough, you can push your combo ahead hundreds more. Try it, see how high you can go. You may like it.

Thanks.

I'll be at GDC in San Francisco this March to represent the game. I'm hopeful, but I have a lot of respect for the other games. Should be fun.
