Suggestion- Forum Reputation?

I've lurked around other forums, and have seen a lot of them allowing users to receive reputation (could be raised or lowered based on fellow members' input) based on if their posts were helpful or not. They also only allow senior members to raise/lower other's rep. I think this would be a great addition to TouchArcade

I think that this is a good idea. The problem would be people who abuse the power

Here's the problems with this idea:

1. Idiots will neg people just for the hell of it. Revenge negs, that time of the month negs, etc.
2. I'm not sure about it but I think that the more posts you have the more rep you can give. This will only boost spamming.
3. Reputation is useless/meaningless. What it really is it's a popularity contest. Thus the one with the most green might not necessarily be the most helpful.
4. Arn doesn't care. I don't know why people bother posting their "ideas" in this section since Arn hardly replies to them.
