I picked this up and it is okay but nothing special. I always loved the arcade version and this isn't too far off.

There are touch controls which don't work very well and button controls that work pretty well. Graphics are retro but improved a little.

No multiplayer or any extra game modes.

Yes.

I should add that the score board tends to block some of the action at the top of the screen.

I would get this if you can do 720 full court jump shots like the NES version.

Hrmm ...

The scoreboard blocking the gameplay would be an issue for me ... that and I've only ever played the NES version (when I was younger) and the thing that sticks out most in my mind is the "Double Dribble speak".

Anyone who has played this on the NES will know what I'm talking about.

I'm gonna hold out for a possible video review, or at least some gameplay footage.

Oh man, back in the day that was something else. I remember seeing screenshots of this compared to the NES version back in the day and thinking "daaaaaaaayum" :P

It's a nostalgia thing. Seeing those "full motion video" dunks back then was something else.

I'd say take a look at the 4th screenshot they posted ... that's not a screenshot I would have personally chose to show the gameplay ... half the guy at the top is cut off. :\

BUT ... it's only 99 cents. :P The only thing that's putting me off is the control. If it controls well, yeah. I'll get it. Hands down. But that touch screen always worries me.
