Submit iPad app before testing on actual hardware??

So, does Apple expect developers to submit iPad apps before actually testing them on real hardware? How else are we going to have iPad apps available on the day iPad is available in stores?

Has anyone heard of a policy to reject iPad apps knowing they couldn't have possibly been tested properly?

Maybe Apple shouldn't allow iPad apps (aside from the few developers who have gotten to actually use the hardware early) to be submitted or approved until a few days after the hardware is available to the public.

Does anyone have any confirmed info about this?

Oh, come on, man! We fully believe that an untested and unoptimized product releases is the cornerstone of the AppStore. So why would Apple restrict what has been so profitable for them for 2 years?

There is a thread on this topic on the Apple forums.

You will need a developer login to access this forum.

I suppose that info is under NDA so probably shouldn't repost it here.

Getting the jump on competition is too important. People will probably expect to be updating frequently anyway.
