If the Genesis Emulator doesn't come soon with Shining Force, I might have to get this. I need my dosage of turn-basedness.

Prab FTW!
Looks like it's "More than meets the eye" and only a mere 7.5mb Woot! Well I can scratch this little nostalgic jewel off my insta buy list. |

can you skip the super long and sluggish battle animations?

You can turn off the battle animtions in the settings menu.
Only problem I have with the game is the dearth of sound (which explains the 7.5mb size). Lack of decent sound effects is what ruins the battle animations for me, and makes the game much less enjoyable as a whole than it should be. Still fun, just not mind-blowingly exciting to play. |

Yeah the sounds aren't too hot, and the music is pretty generic/bland (but still fitting enough). If they nailed the sound and music like they did with everything else, then I think this would have been primo but for what's there, it's definitely worth the asking price (I guess you can just load some old school TF music and play it in the background if you really need it!)
Had fun playing it for the last hour till my battery died, it sure "feels" like a port but it doesn't bother me - enjoying it! |

I'm a secret closet diehard TF fan, so this was a no brainer for me. Love it. I really have had a lot of fun playing it! Yeah the lack of sound is disappointing, but I happen to have the TF: The Movie soundtrack (the one with Lion and Weird Al) on my iPod, so I just play that on the iPod player. ^_^
