iSchool - game ideas

ideas about a fast fun and frantic multiplayer game for the idevices

4 modes:
-locker
-schoolz
-Vs
-shop

additional modes could be:
-arcade
-survival
-sports?
-what else?

locker:
-character creation
-character customization
-edit callsigns and emblems (MW2 style)
-players can create & manage multiple characters

schools:
-think of this as the campaign mode....well sort of
-but the campaign itself is derived from a mix of multiplayer mini games
-these mini games tie into each other to create a cohesive 1-2hr experience from riding the bus to school, to taking classes, lunch and then after school ect
-at least 4 schools at launch
-more details and examples soon

Vs:
-top down dual stick shooter
-deathmatch & team deathmatch
-might be additional game modes
-lots of maps

shop:
-this is where you buy virtual goods for your characters
-like styles
-clothes
-accessories
-ect

all about the school mode.................................

here's some initial thoughts:
-tap school mode from main menu
-choose what school you want to play
-this will bring you to the lobby
-when players are set the game will begin

first mini game (just as an example nothing set in stone):
-setting: bus ride
-some sort of casual competitive multiplayer experience
-paper ball fight?
-or some kind of puzzle game that revolves around random NPCs getting on the bus trying to find a seat
-idk?

midgame lobbies:
-after each round stats will be displayed (while the second round is loading)
-during this maybe the players can post snippets to the splash screen
-small cutscenes in between each round that tie all of them together
-can be skipped by votes

second mini game:
-setting: cafeteria (breakfast)?
-or the school halls?
-food fight?
-idk?

midgame lobby.....

third mini game
-setting: classroom
-brain teasers?
-and you can bump ppl back by hitting them with spit balls
-but if your caught trying to bump ppl you get thrown out of the match?
-idk?

midgame lobby.........

then so on and so on; you get the idea right?

schools:
-each school will have its own unique personality and characters
-its own unique mini games
-about 1-2 hours long
-with new schools added via updates

all about the VS.............

top down dual stick shooter:
-with powerups (candy, soda, ect)
-obstacles?
-like truant officers, teachers ect
-that run around the map randomly for X amount of secs until they dash off the map
-if they run into while your trying to battle it out with other players they will essentially grab your character and carry you around the map and then take your character off the map with them when they leave and you will have to wait for a respawn before you can get back into the action
-traps based around playground equipment?
-maps are playgrounds they should retain some of the personality from the schools so you can recognize what school they are from when you play them
-instead of guns; paper ball fights? or if there is snow then they are snowball fights or rubber bands for bullets idk but absolutely no guns or parents will have a fit

thoughts:

Keep in mind these mini games are pieces that go together to create an overall cohesive experience going from one mini game to next via a midgame lobby (displaying stats and results) and a comical cutscene starring the player's created characters and of course NPC characters unique to each school.

its not a bundle game!!

each school is essentially a package of mini games with a consistent theme, art style, unique characters, all of it mostly deposition for the mini games but it should be creative, funny/hilarious and imaginative

these mini games should also follow a logical flow; which is a satirical take on school itself; from bus ride to class to lunch so on and so on. its just that the game play experience is fast, frantic and fun multiplayer mini games, most of which will be casual in nature & def very VERY simple.

thx for the feedback guys

if your feeling creative feel free to drop down some ideas about what kind of mini games their could be, keep in mind tho that they have to be funny, satirical, very simple & fun to play multiplayer mini games..........

ill keep brainstorming some more ideas for this concept as well

also try to think of different multiplayer modes for a top down dual stick multiplayer shooter set in playgrounds or with a "school recess" theme....

initial thoughts:
-scavenger
-CTF?
-bullies vs nerds?
-idk?
-be creative

thx again

A remake of SkoolDaze or Back2Skool would be nice, since you mentioned the school theme!

cubytes, you really should learn how to write programs so you can turn these ideas into reality.
