App description: Destroy the StarLord inside the StarKeep's multi-layered, orbiting defense shields. Watch out for enemy ships, the StarKeep's multiple defenses, as well as the defense shields themselves. Fight your way through successively harder levels to try and claim the high score. Can you crush the StarLord and the StarKeep he defends? Inspired by an arcade classic.

TIPS:
- The arrow keys rotate and thrust your ship. "F" fires your laser.
- Finishing a level gives you an additional ship.
- Stay moving.
- Accelerating from stop takes time to overcome inertia so thrust early to escape oncoming menace(s).
- Learn each level's nuances and timing.
- Defense shield segments are worth twice as much left in place when the Star Lord is destroyed than if you destroyed it with your laser. Thusly, destroy fewer defense shield segments for more points upon level completion.

Background music by Kevin MacLeod.

Feel free to e-mail info@adado.com with any concerns or suggestions.

NOTE: Recommend the newer model (i.e. generation) devices such as the 3GS, the 4, the iPad and the newest Touch models.

New in 1.0.3:

- Tuned game play to increase frame rate in addition to the frame rate increase from modifications made in version 1.0.2.

I hope it plays better than Star Fortress (tho it's prob worth the dollar to Star Castle junkies like myself)

Fixed the rare score display issue.

StarKeep 1.0.1 was just released and it contains a fix for the rare score display issue where the score display would double-up over itself (slightly offset) making the score unreadable for a brief period of time.

Is the game too hard?

Thanks all.

Danrel, it's for "3GS and newer Touches only" (and iPad when it comes out). It's using a beta game engine whose performance is still being tweaked to allow the older devices to play its games fine. If you have an iPhone original, a 3G or older Touch, you will want to pass. Don't want to sell you something you cannot use! I hope I catch you in time!!

Hmmm!

I fondly remember the Star Castle arcade game.

I eagerly await someone taking the virtual bullet here and letting us know how this plays (especially how it controls).
