You are correct -- my mistake. I meant Retina on the 4/4S and full resolution on the iPad 2.

+1 for bows and ranged combat! Also a female character would be nice although there's none because of the story,

The last post from the developer was 2 days ago; they have been contributing to this thread regularly. They have never given a release date beyond 2012. The game is very much under development (as the action on my RS2 DropBox folder can attest) at the moment. The latest alpha build I played (from July) was pretty darn playable.

How close are the developers from reaching the beta phase?

Can't speak for them. Keep in mind: Ravensword 2 is a big game.

Here's that interrogation I warned you about, Josh might have to use that cyanide tooth after all!

Just how big? Substantially bigger than aralon? Is there full voice acting? Bigger skill trees?

Roughly how many different types of enemies are there? 10? 20? 50? Do they have different attack methods and strategies or are they all pretty much reskinned identical enemies?

I'm really wondering about this one: in the screens, there were realtime shadows. Are there in the game, too?

Is the combat semi turn based like Aralon or hack n slash like Skyrim?

Roughly what's the framerate?

Don't know how many or any of those you can answer, but I'd sure appreciate it.

First I should say this game is not Aralon 2, nor was it intended to be.
Ravensword has been and will always be more of an actiony rpg than Aralon.
For instance, shooting the bow in first person will require some 'aim' on your part, you can't just shoot an enemy from far away locked and always hit.
So in answer to your question about the combat, its more hack n' slash, combo style attacks, z targeting akin to Zelda.

Ravensword 2 doesn't have skill trees, it has talents which are in a sense like perks that can be leveled up, for magic, combat, as well as physical attributes.

Ravensword 2's magic is derived from a rune system, the same as the original Ravensword (except that we have added a few new runes with interesting powers)

Yes we have real-time shadows on anything iPad 2 or 4s and up.

Yes we support Retina.

We have as many enemies as Aralon, and the world is probably about the same size as Aralon, possibly larger (we're not entirely finished yet)

We will have voice acting on the main quest line NPC's.
