Just curious, I'm still not convinced people have the money to spend on this thing.

I have the money, but I am going to wait for the 3G version to come out. I also want to read some user reviews before I part with my $729!

I reserved one instead of pre paying so I could get some hands on time before purchasing
I'm going with the 16 wifi only version I was looking for a second device cause I'm always on my 3G S and I'm sick of not having enough battery, and my 2G & 3G just do not have enough ram to be more than a storage device. Was thinking about a 64 touch (again) for the mass storage but ipad is somthing new so just like with the iPhone I'll get every gen |

No. But I am thinking of getting my daughter an iPad nano (ipod touch) for her birthday though.
There is a lot of buzz, but the thing just doesn't do that much. We will have to see how it does after the initial hype dies down to see if this can compete as a gaming device. The only advantage/use I see is playing board type games with multiple players (pass around the table monopoly) or reading books/mags. |

I don't want to buy it on April 3rd. I wanna buy it right now. Don't know what happened exactly but the screen on my iPod shrinked or something. Seems a lot smaller than it should. Need something bigger

I wanna see what improvements come up in the next couple generations. I'm getting a new phone this summer, and I'm taking a look at the Palm Pre that'll have an app to share it's 3G as a WiFi signal. Hook that up to my iPod, and I'll be set. The internet would've been the only thing holding my interest in the iPad, but that's gone ka-poot.

$500 is not an insurmountable amount of money these days... Say what you will about us being in a "recession", but I live about half a block from an Apple Store and it doesn't matter what time of day I walk by there. If they're open, there's a constant stream of people walking out with product and so many people shopping there buying something often involves crowd surfing to get what you want then waiting in line for 10 minutes.
