I am kind of dissapointed with this one. Azkend is one of my all time favorite games on iphone. I knew that this was going to be essentially the same game, but thought the huge amount of added real estate would be a big improvement over the original. Strangely, the boards are kind of small and only take up a small portion of the screen and the rest is just the background. The proportions are way different than the iphone app. I feel like the boards could take up significantly more space.

+1

This is the first app that I bought for the iPad. Had high expectations / hopes. Earlier comments from the developer led me to assume that the iPhone game was less beefy and that there would be substantially more content in this version. The game is essentially the exact same, no different modes, and the boards were small. Certainly nice looking, otherwise I would have just 2x my iPhone Azkend and replayed that.

the sad part is even with the blurrier graphics I think I actually prefer the iphone version blown up because the tiles actually fill out the screen more. I am a huge fan of this developers iphone puzzlers(also sparkle and dragon portals), but this is a step back to me, and at a higher price.

We're sorry if some people feel that Azkend HD should have offered more features than it does. Our purpose was to present the game as an iPad adapted version of an existing game, with some small differences and enhancements.

It has larger levels which are different from the iPhone version and similar to the desktop version. We could have created even larger levels or scaled up the tiles, but we chose to use the larger screen to show more of the gorgeous sceneries as people have always told us how they love them. Azkend HD also includes all the original music that was dropped out from the iPhone version because of the download size limits and memory issues at the time. The UI was also tweaked for the iPad. Finally there is remastered high resolution art throughout the game, which even the desktop version lacks (the resolution on PC/Mac is only 800x600).

Since this is a new version of an already existing game, we decided to call it HD - High Definition - as the most prominent feature compared to other versions are the high resolution graphics. Also it seemed that many other games use the HD to mark the iPad adapted version of a pre-existing game. The main goal was to create a version adapted for the iPad since we felt that the game should work great on the iPad.

We hope people will enjoy Azkend HD and that new people will find the game through it. However, it isn't a sequel but a different version for a different platform. Hope this answers some questions about Azkend HD.

Yes to larger levels.

I like the tile size, I would love bigger boards - that really take up the real estate for some great long lines and combos. The backgrounds are pretty, but that's not the reason to get the game. To me the attention to detail, the gorgeous graphics are all part of the "polish" that really makes it stand out. But that is not the game.

I was hoping for longer levels, longer game experience, big boards, and a couple new powerups? I'm still a big fan of 10tons but I was hoping for a steak, and feel like I got a nice burger instead. Well, it is what it is.

So you had better make an Azkend 2 to fix everything.

Yes to Azkend 2

I would love to see the tiles take up most of the board and the scenery less.
