Double Across, a Crossword Game (with those little wooden tiles) for iPad -- May 2010

Sol Robots announced today, that they will soon release Double Across(TM), a new multi-player crossword game for the iPad.

Daily drawings featuring hundreds of dollars in prizes start today and end at the release of Double Across(TM) in the app store. A Grand Prize drawing will culminate the event when contest entrants could win a new iPad with Double Across(TM) installed. Go to Double Across.com for a chance to win!

Double Across(TM) is a word game that lets you unleash the real power of your vocabulary in a crossword puzzle game. No longer are you constrained by not having the right letters or by the physical size of the board. This new game combines some the best loved features of chess with the fun and thrill of a crossword puzzle game.

"Double Across(TM); is the exciting new word game for the 21st century. This is the game inventor Alfred Butts (a.k.a. Mr. Scrabble(TM)) would have invented if he had had an iPad." said Cortis Clark, President of Sol Robots.

For more information please see the Double Across Press Release.

Just wanted to chime in -- I'm the team member who's creating the graphics for this game. As you might guess from the screenshot above, we are trying to create something that looks elegant, with the use of wood and leather graphics. As we get ready to post more screenshots, feedback is always welcomed.
