Located in the heart of Quebec City, the National Institute of Digital Entertainment (ENDI) offers a unique opportunity for students to get training in video game development. In addition to benefit from mentoring by outstanding professionals from the video game industry, students will work on developing and publishing an original game during 12 weeks, in a scrum video game production environment, including one week immersion at one of our corporate members (Beenox, Frima Studio, Longtail Studio, Sarbakan, Ubisoft).

Game Impressions

This is surprisingly polished and fun for student work. The character design and animation is quite good (though as the skaters jump onto the track they are already pumping their legs in mid air), and it's fun to check opponents into the walls to slow them down. Nice environmental graphics, too. Since one of the competing racers is named Ubisoft, I wouldn't be surprised if the students got some professional help from our "favorite" Canadian developer .

That said, there's only one track, there's not skater customization, no way to improve your skills, etc -- in other words, it's a pretty shallow game. But hey, it's free!
