App description: Old school puzzling meets modern mobile platforms! Universal binary - iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad supported. Over 2800 levels, OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements!

Vexed DLX is very simple in premise - move blocks of different designs next to each other to eliminate them. Once you eliminate all the blocks, you proceed to the next level. Good luck!

* OpenFeint 2.4 support for achievements and leaderboards
* Over 2800 levels in 48 levelpacks
* simple and mindbending puzzle challenges
* the ultimate casual game
* support for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch

Please don't let pride get in the way. Feel free to start with the Children's LevelPack. It's a great introduction and you will gain valuable experience that will come in handy in the other 47 LevelPacks.

You can ignore the timer and just play casually whenever you have a minute or two or you can go all out and try and reach the top of the leaderboards.

With over 2800 levels in 48 level packs, you will probably be enjoying Vexed DLX at this time next year. The amount of play for the cost is simply immense. LevelPacks range in complexity from childs play to seemingly impossible. There is definitely something for everyone here.

Vexed DLX is based on a Palm OS game from way back in the day. We have enhanced it for both iPhone and iPad play. The iPad layout really takes advantage of the increased screen size and the graphics are very nice. Both the iPhone and the iPad versions are OpenFeint integrated and offer 49 leaderboards and over 50 achievements totaling 1000 OpenFeint points.

Best of all, your purchase gets you a universal binary. That means Vexed DLX will play on both your iPad and your iPhone/iPod Touch with just one purchase.

peilei's comments:

I have enjoyed playing Vexed on a variety of platforms beginning with the Palm V back in the dark ages and while there are several ports for iPhone, there are none for the iPad. I decided to port to the iPad and I threw in OpenFeint achievements and leaderboards for the competitive folks out there.

This is a universal build so you can run on iPhone and iPad.

This is somewhat tempting to me.

I have been playing Vexed doubled on the iPad, and I must say, while playable, it certainly does not look great.

I also really like that this publisher / developer credits the original author / developer - something not always done.

Credit where credit is due... there are a couple of "ports" of Vexed in the App Store that are in obvious violation of the GNU license in terms of credit. Let me know if you have any ideas for additions/improvements.

Obviously, I want to remain true to the Vexed spirit, but I'm open to ideas.

One idea I have toyed with is a two player timed mode for iPad where you compete on the same screen at the same time to solve a random puzzle.

I will have to read up on this game to see how it plays. A two player mode would be great.

On sale for $0.99

I picked it up even though I have Vexed for iPhone. Graphically really looks nice and plays well. One of the ultimate puzzlers out there.
