I received a code for this game. I play Hacky Sack, so I was interested to see how this played.

It is clear that a lot of work went into this game, as there is a story as well as a multi page instruction guide on how to play. There is a world tour mode, a freestyle mode and practice.

Graphics are rough but they do tend to fit the style of the game. The play control is another story. It is way too hard to hit the sack and if you do the hit detection seems to be way off. There are meters that you are suppose to watch as well as paying attention to the sack. I knew I was in trouble when I had to go back and read how to play three times before I was able to kick the sack once.

Play needs to be more simple and the rough edges need to be polished up. If this game is trying to be like hackie sack it needs to stream line the controls.

I played all of the modes but never felt connected to the sack due to the controls. The first character you face off against in world tour plays like a pro. This guy is stringing combos together and I am trying to hit the sack once.

I say that a lot of work went into this because there is story and more instructions than some adventure games I have played. The story seems to be a social commentary on the world and it just felt weird. The voice acting was low with no emotion.

The art style, commentary and characters might make a decent comic but I can't say that they make for a great game.

Thanks for your review BazookaTime,

I appreciate your feedback, however I think you are coming down to hard on the controls, it's a game of timing, as is the real game of hack. If you miss the hack will drop. The games controls couldn't be structured any simpler. It's as easy as using one finger and releasing it on the center of the screen at the right timing when the moves are lit up on the side bar. the longer you hold the more you'll charge. That's about all there is to it, if you have some suggestions that would make it better please let me know.

I think if you give the game a bit more time you'll respond better to the controls. I suggest you spend around ~ 15 minutes in practice mode and you'll be fine. Also if you want to tell me which graphics are rough I will gladly fix them.

I only sent you the promotional code maybe an hour or so ago, you could at least give it a bit more of a chance, and perhaps finish the game before you post a review.

Thanks!

It looks neat, I am just not a "hacky-sack"ist or hacky sacker or whatever you'd say.. But it does look like a lot of work went into it!

Just wanted to let you guys know I've submitted an update to Apple today to address a few minor things. Here are the official notes:

Version 1.0.1: This new update takes care of a few minor graphical bugs, and will slightly improve performance. Along with this a new, more responsive control scheme has been added to the game.

Cheers!
