1. When Xavier is holding Shaw captive with his mind, yelling at Magneto not to kill him, when all he has to do is release Shaw and he could use his powers to stop the coin himself.

2. When Nightcrawler's father decides to use swords instead of picking people up and dropping them like he did in the beginning.

3. When Nightcrawler's dad decides to stay on the beach and watch the missiles fly at him.

4. When Magneto decides he needs to flourish around blocking bullets instead of stopping them/disassembling her gun like he did with everything else.

5. When the antidote Beast makes does the EXACT OPPOSITE of what this genius intended, also gives him blue fur and a cowardly lion's mask.

6. The absurd sudden love connection between Xavier and the CIA Agent, when they said like 2 things to each other total, all business related.

I can totally accept the whole super powers thing since it's a movie and all, but when they start the movie off (which was actually pretty great in the first 20 minutes) with Xavier hitting on women with scientific terms explaining their mutant eyes or hair.

The worst part was by far their message they bashed into your head the entire movie.

Society against mutants, society hates mutants, be true to your real self, etc etc etc etc etc.
The amount of wannabe-moving-speeches-that-nobody-watching-can-relate-to moments in this movie are waaaaaay too much.

How do they show that normal people hate mutants? With CIA AGENTS acting like stereotypical frat boy idiots and cracking jokes at them. And the very last one behind the door says, "No let us regular people go you can kill the mutants" is how they decide to show that normal humans are evil.

I guess I hated it much more than usual because it started out pretty great, and went downhill as soon as the new recruits were introduced.

Also Kamazar, I loved Machete since it was making fun of movies EXACTLY like this one.

Dude, some of your plots holes are just the plot.

Eh Darwin's death just had me confused at first since it wasn't made clear whether he survived or not until they said so in the next scene.

A plot hole is "a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that goes against the flow of logic established by the story's plot, or constitutes a blatant omission of relevant information regarding the plot. These include such things as unlikely behaviour or actions of characters, illogical or impossible events, events happening for no apparent reason, or statements/events that contradict earlier events in the storyline."

It's just the fact that they mixed absolutely insane moments (which are fine) with a movie style meant to be serious and contain deep messages (not okay).

No on CBR there's a giant debate going on about how the movie makers are racist because of darwins death. It makes no sense to me at all. Your point is perfectly logical.

Oh my friends and I were laughing at how he was the token black guy of the movie haha. But calling the makers racist is silly, seeing how they gave like 5 different "be yourself" speeches throughout the plot.

tags are dumb so if I ruin the movie for you, don't blame me for you 1). not reading my post or 2). reading a movie thread and expecting to not get spoiled.
•••Spoiler:
1. Huh? Prof. X can go into minds and control them. The only two minds in the room were Shaw's and Magneto. He is friends with Magneto, so he wants him to win and obviously wants Shaw to lose, since he IS the bad guy. But, he couldn't break into Magneto's mind even if he wanted to because he was wearing the helmet.
2. They don't want to repeat action sequences, swords are much more fun and it's a more official and final way to kill someone
3. Dramatic movie moment, but he probably figured Magneto was gonna stop them, and even if that was weak, he could still teleport away anytime he wanted to, even if the bombs were about to hit.
4. Don't remember that scene
5. They gave a weak explanation, but it was something like instead of attacking his genes, they increased what they did. Still, none of him was blue before, but he has to get blue somehow, right?
6. They just kissed. If I had a love connection with every girl I kissed, then I'd be the Governator.
This is a movie so it just creates a reality where humans are against a race of people being completely dominant and stronger to them, and the protagonists are the X-Men, so its not like we would be shown to hate them.
This is a talky superhero movie, so yeah there were alot of words, but I loved it.
Some things though
1. Any part with Hank McCoy once he becomes Beast
2. Russian ship scenes
3. When Magneto tests out his powers (satellite and once his mom dies)
Favorites
1. Any scene with Rose Byrne in it

I saw the movie a week ago, I didn't exactly search my brain through every scene. But basically, they had to tie up that plot hole, and I thought it was anti-climatic but whatever, just a portion

So, uh... Anyone seen Super 8?

Very enjoyable. There's been lots of criticism that Spielberg essentially tried to cram what should have been two different films into one, but I thought he tied them together well enough. Loved the crashing train sequence.
