I was surprised to see the triple-breasted woman allowed in a PG-13 film, lol. I found the visuals and action scenes to be pretty cool. Always interesting seeing depictions of the future. Nothing amazing about the plot though. Wasn't as bad as the reviews made it out to be, but it's nothing too special either. Haven't seen the original.

Really? I thought it was one of the most straightforward movies I've seen.

•••Spoiler:  You just need to know that both his friend (the black guy) and his "wife" worked for the government. His friend wanted to keep him away from Rekall so he wouldn't get his memories back. Nothing happened when he tried going to Rekall with that blonde Asian guy. His friend told his wife that he was going to Rekall. His "wife" called the guards.

Anyways, a happy ending for once, yay.

Edit: In any case, I enjoyed it more than Prometheus xP.

Watched Paranormal Activity 2 on Netflix last night- had only seen the first one. Was hoping it would actually be scarier than the first, but it wasn't- just as boring and unscary as ever. Literally- the whole series is about people watching stuff move and scream at loud noises. As always, watching people •••Spoiler:  get pulled down the stairs by invisible demons is hilarious- dunno why, always crack up at those parts.

Total Recall ($125m budget) opened to just $26m, trailing behind TDKR, which was first again for the Box Office at $36.4m. Brutal summer for the BO.

Doesn't help that a lot of people are too scared to go to the movies right now. Really a shame. Theaters around me haven't taken much of a hit- still as busy as ever. Not saying media coverage is a bad thing, but with the way they sensationalize it and freak everyone out- you could argue it's their fault.

Here’s what many people have been waiting to see since Steven Spielberg cast Daniel Day-Lewis in his presidential biopic Lincoln: an official shot of Lewis in costume and makeup as our sixteenth president. He looks fantastic — almost eerily like our image of the man — pictured in what could well be his seat at the Ford Theater, where John Wilkes Booth would take Lincoln’s life only minutes later.

The film is based on the book Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin, which chronicles Lincoln’s often combative relationship with his combative cabinet, especially in the last months of his life, when he was attempting to navigate the aftermath of the Civil War and the end of slavery. This image captures Lincoln’s famously contemplative character; see the full shot below.

EW has the image, and quotes Spielberg explaining that the actor’s famously deep immersion in the role was in play here, but perhaps not to tabloid extremes:
"Daniel was always conscious of his contemporary surroundings. Daniel never went into a fugue state. He did not channel Lincoln. All that stuff is just more about gossip than it is about technique."
Spielberg also explains how the film opens,
"Our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition… [The film begins with] Lincoln’s realization that the Emancipation Proclamation, the thing he is most known for, was simply a war powers act that would easily be struck down by any number of lawyers after the cessation of hostilities after the Civil War. He needed to abolish slavery by constitutional measure — and that’s where we start."
Lincoln stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gulliver McGrath, David Strathairn, Tommy Lee Jones, with Jackie Earle Haley, Jared Harris, Lee Pace, James Spader, John Hawkes, Bruce McGill, Adam Driver, Walton Goggins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Tim Blake Nelson, David Oyelowo and Hal Holbrook. It opens on November 9.

Ben Affleck rumoured to direct the Justice League film. Also Whedon officially back for Avengers 2 and a marvel tv show.

Interesting about Affleck... What other movies has he directed?

Awesome about Whedon.
