Is "Wurd" a real word? Not according to the dictionary, but it is an addictive game and a great way to test your vocabulary! We show you a word and YOU decide if it's real or fake. Sound simple? It may be at first, but you only have three chances to get the words right. Still think it's too easy? Try marathon mode, where you're up against a timer, then challenge yourself to get bonuses, word streaks, and more.

With OpenFeint support, whether you're a marathoner, sprinter, or streaker, there are 3 leaderboards to keep you coming back for more. And when you're not busy unlocking 20 achievements, you can view previous games and learn a new word or two. Are you game?

Wurd is brought to you by Gomu Gomu and Llamaface.

Some questions about this... how big is the dictionary? One concern I always have with these kinds of games in the likelihood of words repeating thus, over time, reducing the incentive to replay... So, are words generated "on the fly" so to speak, or, are they drawn from some master dictionary?

Yeah, nice spin on the traditional word games. It seems fully featured, as well.

The game uses a dictionary of 80,000 real words, a list of thousands of commonly misspelled words and a realistic random word generator based on Morrie Gasser's algorithm.

Arguably, there are over 250,000 words in the English language, but a list of over 80,000 words would start including highly technical words so we've limited it to a playable subset.

Sounds good enough to me. Bought! Will leave a review in my local Appstore.

Another Q - what, if any, updates do you have in mind for this game? For example; themed subsets such as countries, languages, obscure town/city names around the world, strange animals, more technical areas?... Anything like this?

Thanks ataloss! We just released the game so there's no definitive updates but we would like to expand the social aspect like playing through a list of words and then sending that list as a challenge to a friend and see who got a better score.

In short, if you like word games, you're going to love this. Very slick and well presented. Challanging too. I'll post a more in-depth review later on. But, very much recommended! Thanks for bringing this to us.
