Features include:

- FANTASTIC 3D GRAPHICS (all environments and enemies are realtime calculated 3D)

Each stage has different 3D background with great graphic art and visual effects. The camera follows player's moves at all times

Levels are full of enemies who want to interrupt player's mission. They have different kind of weapons, strength and resistance and they can be consolidated into bigger ships

During each stage there are bonus levels to collect upgrades, points and money. The destroyed enemies leave the pickups as well (energy, shield, bombs, ammunition, weapon, points, money, extra life, extra time)!

as I have a weakness for dual-stick shooters I bought this as soon as a saw it.. It plays well, rather than an endless shooter... It has levels.. Graphics are really polished and the controls work well . You can upgrade your weapons... This game is worth the 59p in my opinion

Check lite version first to see if you are happy with its performance.
We are working on HD version of Fortis for iPad. It should be available soon. Please stay tuned for more details.

Is this a dual stick shooter? How is everything controlled and are they responsive?

How do the 36 levels play out?

Like do you play the first area (background) for the first 1/4 of the game, then move to the next? Or does the game mix up the stages (backgrounds) to keep things fresh?

The game looks and plays very well.
There are 4 weapons that you can upgrade and buy ammo for. First weapon has unlimited ammo, all subsequent weapons have limited ammo but are more powerful. You can buy extra ammo and upgrades with money you pick up after destroying enemies.
It plays like any other dual stick shooter where you can fly in one direction while shooting in another direction.
I have played 6 levels now and the playing area is what you see on the screen. If you go off screen you end up on the opposite side, so the playing area is really small. After a few levels I ended up on a "lava map" which you can see in one of the screenshots. Its a bonus map where you pick up as many powerups as you can. So far I've been destroying meteorites, spikey mines and occasional enemy ship. Looks like you do get a variety of environments but the fact that I am limited to the screen sized map disappointed me. I expected large maps.
So far I'd say the game is worth $0.99. It looks awesome. I'll play some more and report back later.
