I just tried and it is possible. I got 545 but that has not been optimised yet. Try to avoid the last green wall in the bottom left corner.

Actually I've done it and got 546. It just seems impossible to increase further unless you go by the top.

Wonder why you're asking. Going over the top is a honest way without cheating or using any glitches and is for sure designed to be that way. There are quite a few examples of these unusual ways which are a major attraction of the game.

Does anyone know what the old high was before someone figured out how to go over the top. 546 is most I can get going the conventional route.

I didn't know it's possible to go over the top so I spend half a day trying to get 3 stars through the bottom route, then I youtube it and found only 2 videos both showing it going over the top (I'm a dumbass). Just a personal thing since I spent so much time on that, wanted to see if there's anyone who can better me.
