Fire Panic is an action packed game for the iPhone/iPod Touch, offering fast-paced fun for fans of gripping entertainment. The Fire Panic graphic design shows the featured game elements in a trendy retro look, reminiscent of independent games classics. The Fire Panic game experience is specially adapted to the needs of iPhone/iPod Touch users. The fascinating "touch & draw" game principle makes full use of the touchscreen's control options.

As a special feature, Fire Panic allows players to send their score to online leaderboards and to inform their Facebook & Twitter friends of their exploits via OpenFeint. This enables players going up against friends and relatives in a challenging competition for the crown of the best Fire Panic player.

The Fire Panic game experience:

In Fire Panic, aspiring firefighters face the ongoing task of dealing with more and more fires that pop up. To do this, the player draws a route for the fire engine on the street map that is provided by the level design. The engine follows the given route, automatically extinguishing all fires along the way.

Special challenges

The player's work is made more complicated through an increasing number of fires and numerous "disasters" that cause additional blazes throughout the virtual city. These include a devastating tornado that may engulf streets in fire or attacks by dangerous aliens in their UFOs who fire at whole blocks with their lasers.

Moreover, fires in essential buildings and a limited water supply will impede the player's progress in Fire Panic. Schools, hospitals, and even nuclear power stations may go up in flames and need to be seen to first, or the game may be over quite abruptly.

Scores and bonus events

Fire Panic players are rewarded according to the familiar point system and the scores are added immediately to the players account. After putting out blazes the vehicles have to return to the station where their water supply will be replenished.

To improve personal top scores, Fire Panic also offers a selection of bonus events that will increase the achieved scores through multipliers. Besides the classic, rescuing a kitten, players also get to remove hazardous beehives.

Fire Panic facts:

* Simple, gripping touch & draw game principle
* Retro look & feel reminiscent of popular game classics
* Various leaderboards on iPhone/iPod Touch
* OpenFeint enables competition with linked-in friends
* Bonus events for additional points
* Special buildings for an additional thrill

The gameplay is actually great. Graphics are cute and music in retro. Sadly I am not very well at it so I burned the city in 5 minutes.

I suck hard as well but enjoy it. I'm assuming this is a bit of a re-launch of some sort since it is copyrighted 2009 and is using a fairly ancient version of OF (but actually a much cooler version IMHO since it was the one that still tracked multiple local scores and let you know your best score in a given game mode right at the index of the leaderboards).

I also love the mayor's Main Menu Quotes! Not sure if they're supposed to be funny, but they are (I can only assume, even when grammatically correct, these weren't made by a native English speaker).
