Garbage Day - A great game, or rubbish? Both!
Garbage Day for iPhone and iPod touch
So, what's it all about then?
You drive a garbage truck and visit town after town collecting trash cans. This task starts out simple, but becomes increasingly difficult and you encounter water on the road, pot holes, ambulances on their way to emergencies, train crossings, changes in weather conditions, sleeping animals, folks that are late for work and decide to reverse out on to the street without any regard for human life or safety... and the list goes on. Oh, and your garbage truck is fitted with a turbo! (and a horn)
Pretty neat, eh?
Okay, I'm listening. What are some of the features?
Garbage Day has:
- Tilt steering controls
- Simple acceleration and braking controls
- A custom built physics engine
- A turbo booster!
- 3 difficulty levels, plus a bonus 'Endless' game mode - this is where the pros go
- Weather effects
- Smooth graphics
- Great sound effects
- Built-in tips on how to play
- Local and global high scores
- OpenFeint integration
Why are cars driving on the left side of the road?
Being a part-time, one-man, Australian game development machine, I didn't give this a second thought until midway through development. Do not fear! You can choose which side of the road to drive on through the options menu.
This all sounds kinda cool, when can I play it?
I plan on submitting the game very shortly! Until then, feel free to ask me any questions here.
