SteamBalls HD it's unique match-3 game with extremely polished visuals and unusual gameplay.

Looks pretty good, but I have to admit that I like the 3D look of the iPhone version much better.
It's what makes Steamballs look so cool

    This version looks to flat.

I will probably still check it out, but it doesn't feel like an upgrade (although the resolution is awesome and the balls look great - amazing icon too!)

I think it's youtube quality problem - visuals on iPad much better than iPhone's one.

    In iPad version also added:

    - score system explanation (now you can see all formula and last points earned)
    - ingame info window (tap any ball to learn info about it)
    - interactive playable tutorial
    - some balls recolored
    - special effects on x-balls much better than on iPhone
    - 2 different types of controls: buttons or slide (can be chosen on first start or in options)

Btw, iPad and iPhone versions use one common OpenFeint scoreboard.

Congrats on the sumbission. I never heard of this game before but the mechanics look pretty cool. Good luck with the Apple review process. :)

    no, I was comparing screenshots.

Look at the bottom of the release tubes / shoot at the top

on the iphone version, you can see the bottom (as it's 3D) - on the iPad, you cannot (it's flat, 2D)

Look at the angle of the strings / rods on that the balls roll on - they are straight. On the iphone version they are angled, as to be 3D.

    Hmm, yeah, truth.
iPad version is too big for that angle of view, so we turn camera upper.
But whole visuals and effects are much better.

Perhaps you could make a portrait angle that matches the 3D of the iphones portrait angle.

    It looks so much cooler.

I agree, the iPad looks much more crisp and pretty (quality wise), but it also loses what always made steamballs so cool to me.

Hopefully I feel different if I play it.

    I'm sure you will.

Portrait mode is not available now, but it's in todo list if sales will be good.

I have this game on my iPod Touch, and it is a great game. I'd love his on the iPad, too! Any idea when it might be released ?

Great job on this, by the way !
